Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Residential Youth Worker to join our GTA team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting and educating children in various settings, fostering their development and well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to creating a safe and engaging environment for youth, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their personal goals. The work environment is at times fast paced and busy. Must be able to work full weekend relief shifts Friday to Sunday at least twice a month, to provide Foster Parents with relief time. Driver's license + reliable vehicle to drive to various homes/programs is an asset. Must have experience working with children/youth who have social and/or cognitive challenges.

Duties


- Provide guidance and support to children in educational and recreational activities.
- Develop and implement engaging programs that promote learning, social skills, and emotional growth.

- Provide Careproviders with support and relief, which includes being able to live-in the home approx. 2 weekends a month to provide the Careproviders relief.
- Foster positive relationships with youth, encouraging open communication and trust.
- Monitor individual progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive approach to youth development.

-Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and complete all required licensing checks
- Assist in organizing and supervising activities that teaches skills and fosters development.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

- complete all reports as required by the Ministry.

Experience


- Previous experience working with children in a residential settings is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- A background in education, child development, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.

- Must have excellent crisis intervention skills and problem solving skills.

- Must be reliable, take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 44 per week
