As a Senior Underwriter who is bilingual in English and French, your expertise will greatly complement and contribute to our department\xe2\x80\x99s continuous evolution. You will underwrite new business applications and non-contractual policy changes. Assess medical, financial and non-medical risk, including rated, modified and declined assessments appropriately using ivari\xe2\x80\x99s underwriting guidelines, reinsurance manual, and procedures. You will:

• Review application forms, changes and underwriting evidence, determine appropriate underwriting requirements and make risk assessment to appropriate risk category
• Communicate with field offices, distributors, and advisors
• Refer files for co-signing large cases
• Make assessment on file with rationale of decision and full documentation
• Follow admin process when decision reached
• Support underwriting leads in day to day underwriting productivity
• Additionally, there are opportunities to participate in projects related to technology, and guideline development, as well as exposure to large case underwriting

• 5-8 years of experience in individual life insurance underwriting
• Excellent medical and financial underwriting knowledge
• Bilingual in English and French is required
• Strong decision making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience dealing with brokerage distribution network
• University or College Degree, ideally in Business, Finance or Health Sciences is an asset
• FLMI and FALU Certifications are an asset
