Job Description

The Senior User Experience Designer is a key player in the Experience Design team and e-Comm division of Home Depot Canada. Reporting to the Senior Manager of UX, this person is responsible for the design of online & mobile experiences (native and responsive), including events, promotions, content pages, custom landing pages and providing strategic user experience design guidance and governance. This person will also be responsible for delivering on key initiatives under an interconnected retail strategy, which may include design and configuration tools & software design or product development projects.

This person will work closely with a team of designers and producers, content strategists, as well as several internal groups including primarily marketing and merchandising, but also advertising, product management and customer experience.

Experience/Skills Required:

Must full fill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (V2 Valued Associate, Well Positioned)

10 + years in the industry as a UX designer, Interaction Designer or Information Architect

Passionate about design and technology

Demonstrated understanding and experience with user-centered design patterns and methodologies & best practices

Killer interaction design skills

Extremely proficient in Mobile First, Lean UX and responsive design principles

Experience building personas and doing task analysis

Sitemap and user flow development

Wireframe and prototype development

Experience designing native apps, across OS

Experience creating strategic roadmaps for mobile app design

Creative/Visual design skills an asset

Strong understanding of data-driven decision making and the tools used to gain insights in customer behavior

Solid understanding of online marketing and web analytics

Understands Digital Marketing KPIs, primarily Customer Experience Measures

Ability to create A/B testing strategies & roadmap

Understands how to translate business requirements into deeper UX requirements

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various team members and stakeholders and oversee junior talent

Ability to provide constructive feedback to designers, marketers and other stakeholders

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; and ability to work within pre-defined processes

Self-starter

Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, with a passion for the challenges around organizing it

Bachelors degree or equivalent in interaction design or interactive, web design

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Abreast of industry trends, retail design experience an asset
