Role description: Arcadis is growing! Arcadis Canada is seeking an Senior Transportation Planner to join our Infrastructure-Transportation Planning team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This role sits within the Global Mobility Business Area Arcadis is seeking a talented and experienced modelling specialist to join its growing transportation planning practice. This is an opportunity to grow your career in transportation planning by taking a leading role in major strategic transportation projects in Canada and worldwide. Role accountabilities:

• Manage/lead transportation studies including supervising staff and undertaking and overseeing project tasks.
• Travel demand model design, estimation, and application;
• Modelling and forecasting for strategic plans, transportation master plans, corridor studies;
• Data collection/survey design
• Data analysis and interpretation;
• Data synthesis and visualization;
• Technical mentorship of junior staff;
• Project management and coordination; and
• Report and proposal writing
• Attending client meetings, making presentations

Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:

• Five or more years\xe2\x80\x99 professional experience in transportation model estimation and application;
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, geography, economics, planning, or related field;
• Familiarity with transportation planning process;
• Experience with at least one travel demand modelling software package (Emme, Visum, TransCAD, Aimsun, CUBE);
• Experience with at least one statistical/econometric software packages (Biogeme, SPSS, ALogit);
• Experience in data analysis, databases, and scripting (MS Access, R, SQL, Python, VBA);
• Experience in GIS is an asset
• Experience in the development and application of activity-based travel demand models is an asset
• Experience in the development and application of meso- and microsimulation models is an asset
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
