Reporting directly to the Manager, Property Accounting, the Senior Tenant Recovery Accountant will play a key role in managing the full cycle of accounting for revenue generating properties within the portfolio.

Responsibilities:



Support integration and ongoing transformation of specialized recovery software with ERP system. Establish recovery models for tenants, based on review and interpretation of tenant lease checklist (all asset classes). Reconcile lease shortfall, ensuring property slippage is understood and can be explained. Collaborate with business stakeholders (Asset Management, Property Operations, Leasing, Accounting, and other departments) to identify analytical requirements that align with strategic goals. Assist Asset Management and Leasing to establish additional rates for non-standard leases. Assist with the set-up of new properties and development transfers for Tenant Recoveries. Assist Lease Administration team regarding tenant billing disputes. Complete Quarterly Forecast and assist in preparation of annual budgets. Contribute towards developing and maintaining regular reports, dashboards, and visualizations to track key performance indicators (include RPSF, recovery ratios, lease shortfall reconciliations) and provide actionable recommendations. Validate the integrated data in a specialized recovery software and ensure data accuracy and reliability for recovery calculation by collaborating with Manager and IT team. Assist with ad-hoc projects, as required.

Qualifications:



A post-secondary degree specializing in Accounting, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience within real estate accounting and reporting; preferably retail/commercial property accounting experience. CPA (CGA, CMA, CA) designation completed preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word and Outlook. JD Edwards (JDE) and GSS experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and accounting skills with excellent attention to detail. A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to adapt to new challenges and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
