Key Responsibilities



Based in Fredericton, NB, the Property Accountant will work with our dynamic accounting team. The Property Accountant will be responsible for all accounting functions, reconciliation and reports, for a portfolio of properties.

Key responsibilities will include:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy across balance sheet items; Prepare monthly bank reconciliations; Analysis of accounts receivable and payables; Prepare and file HST returns on a monthly basis, where applicable; Prepare accurate and complete financial statements for all assigned properties within a 5-day month-end close window; Prepare budgets for all managed properties; and subsequent variance analysis; Calculate and record tenant recovery accruals each month; Generate and post annual property tax and CAM recovery billings for all properties in portfolio; Coordinate recovery billing communications with tenants and leasing staff; Prepare monthly cash disbursement reports; coordinate with management if additional funding is required; Working paper support for annual and quarterly financial statements; Liaise with leasing, finance and operations departments as required on financial matters; Assistance and support on special projects and miscellaneous requests as required.

Qualifications



University Degree or Community College Diploma in accounting; At least 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping, experience in property accounting considered an asset; Proficiency with Microsoft Office; High level of attention to detail, and accuracy; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment; Effective time management skills to efficiently coordinate multiple competing priorities and deadlines; Strong ability to work as part of a team and independently.
