The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for the completion of Canadian corporate tax engagements involving advice on tax planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and compliance issues. Accountable for the delivery of industry and technical expertise relating to complex tax issues through high quality deliverables such as: client interactions, reports, technical work, and presentations. The Senior Tax Manager also manages project financials (budgets, WIPs, timely billing and collection and variance recognition) and executes transactions through the provision of client services including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating engagements. Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

What you will do:
Overseeing the performance of the tax team by managing and developing team members, providing ongoing guidance, encouragement, coaching and support.
Working closely with other managers and leaders in an environment where learning and high performance are a priority, and career advancement is emphasized.
Asserting self and leading team to stay on track to meet established time frames and deadlines.
Providing guidance and assistance to staff and clients on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and advanced compliance issues.
Assisting other professionals within the firm with tax support on their client files.
Organizing and executing client tax engagements while acting as a trusted business advisor.
Identifying and recommending detailed solutions for complex tax issues.
Reviewing tax returns and working paper documentation.
Proactively managing tax engagement billings.
Working on reorganization projects, including planning, and researching technical issues, etc.
Expertly keeping up with industry trends. Researching and interpreting tax legislation, developing strategies, and sharing knowledge and best approaches with the team.
Developing new and existing client and community relationships.
Responsibility for problem identification and problem resolution.
Requirements

What we require:
CPA with at least 6+ years\xe2\x80\x99 progressive public accounting experience, including high-level tax planning experience.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop team members.
Ability to demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts.
Ability to inspire and guide others and garner respect at all levels within the firm.
High-level client service skills and genuine appreciation of a client-focused environment, including the ability to meet deadlines.
Proven leadership skills.
Integrity, honesty, and sound judgment regarding confidential matters.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly dependable, organized, and proactive, with a strong work ethic.
Continuous desire to learn, grow and improve.
