Crowe MacKay LLP\xe2\x80\x99s Edmonton office is seeking a qualified full-time, Senior Tax Specialist Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be a designated accountant, public practice career-focused individual who is excited to join a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial firm wanting to develop their skills in income taxation. This will be a progressive position with opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tax files
  • Preparation and review of personal, corporate and trust income tax returns
  • Undertaking tax research with guidance from senior specialists
  • Undertaking tax projects under supervision of senior specialists
  • Liaise with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
  • Develop strategies for clients to capitalize on business opportunities
  • Identify and document tax filing positions, including risk analysis
  • Research and analysis of a variety of tax issues
  • Prepare internal and external client correspondence
Qualifications
  • CPA designation
  • 2-4 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in public accounting, Tax experience an asset
  • Enrolled, or willing to enroll, in the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course
  • Familiarity with CaseWare, Microsoft Office and Tax Prep
  • Ability to interact with clients, co-workers, Managers and Partners
  • Able to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Values teamwork, client/customer service, professionalism, quality in detailed work, community involvement, personal and professional growth
