Reporting to the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager, the Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and leading key IT systems and infrastructure projects, ensuring their successful execution across multiple studios.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Server Room and Data Center Management
  • Oversee server room management and plan and execute data center migrations to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain internal and customer-facing servers.
  • Manage network interlinks, including DHCP and DNS for both internal and external networks.
  • Systems Architecture and Cloud Management and Migration
  • Design and maintain systems architecture for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Lead cloud initiatives, from planning to deployment and management, including cloud migrations for efficiency and scalability
  • Vulnerability and Security Management
  • Implement and manage security patching processes to protect systems and data from vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and monitor infrastructure security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Implement failover solutions and manage backup systems to ensure data availability and business continuity.
  • Identify critical data and develop a schedule for maintaining and improving backup strategies for data and infrastructure configurations.
  • Project Management, Documentation and Mentorship
  • Lead IT systems and infrastructure projects from proposal development through execution and documentation.
  • Mentor and cross-train team members on existing and new technologies to enhance their knowledge and support career development.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
  • Tier 3 Support and Ticket Resolution
  • Act as a Tier 3 support resource, resolving complex technical issues and guiding junior team members.
  • Vendor Collaboration and Inventory Management
  • Assist with hardware and software vendor evaluation, obtain quotes, make recommendations, and engage in negotiations.
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation for infrastructure components.
Your background includes:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of IT experience
  • Linux expertise is required
  • Proficiency in server room management, clustered VMware environment, cloud technologies, data center migration, and Linux administration.
  • Strong knowledge of security patching, systems architecture, and infrastructure security.
  • Demonstrated experience in Tier 3 support and ticket resolution.
  • Proven expertise in implementing failover and backup solutions.
  • Project management skills, including proposal development and execution.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to provide after-hours support when necessary.
  • Experience with Perforce and game dev pipelines is highly desirable

$84,000 - $126,000 a year

This salary range is specific to candidates located in British Columbia. The salary of the successful candidate will vary within this range based on their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
