About the Role:

ETRO Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead on-site operations across large-scale and complex construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field execution, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality. The Senior Superintendent provides strategic leadership to site teams, coordinates subcontractor efforts, and aligns operations with project milestones and organizational goals.


As a senior field leader, you will act as a key liaison between project management, subcontractors, and clients-driving operational excellence, fostering collaboration, and upholding ETRO's culture of accountability, safety, and craftsmanship.

What You'll Do:

Lead on-site construction activities from preconstruction planning through project closeout. Develop and manage project schedules in collaboration with Project Managers and Superintendents. Coordinate subcontractors and ensure alignment with project expectations and milestones. Oversee the creation and execution of Site-Specific Safety Plans. Enforce ETRO's Occupational Health & Safety policies and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations. Conduct site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ensure all required safety coverage is in place. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient job site. Build strong relationships with subcontractors, optimizing labor and material resources for maximum efficiency. Identify and mitigate site risks through proactive planning and problem-solving. Lead conflict resolution and performance management with subcontractors and site personnel. Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast materials and reduce delays. Oversee prefabrication and off-site strategies to improve workflow and productivity. Represent ETRO in client-facing meetings, providing leadership and transparency throughout the project. Mentor Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth. Implement lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across site operations. Deliver accurate reporting on project progress, field productivity, and quality control metrics. Support documentation and closeout processes to ensure all project requirements are met.

What You Bring:

Red Seal certification in Carpentry or a related trade. 10+ years of experience in site management or supervisory roles. Proven track record managing large-scale or complex construction projects. Proficiency in scheduling tools, project management software, and safety systems. Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to inspire high-performing site teams. Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, codes, and safety standards. Excellent communication and organizational skills for effective stakeholder management. A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation.
