Job Description

SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT



Immediate Opening for a Professional staff members with a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Canadian income taxation to be able to carry out and supervise more complex areas of the work assigned.

Review or prepare for Partner's final approval all Engagement files including all required forms, checklists and associated correspondence for the various engagements.

Review or prepare Canadian and US corporate and personal tax returns including preparation of the corporation's tax provision for the various files. Preparation of the file for final Partner review.

Review or prepare HST returns for Partner approval for various clients in industries including self-employed, construction, professional service businesses, physicians, real estate investment, and real estate agents.

Review or prepare complex T1's, T2's T3's for various individuals,estates, companies and businesses.

Prepare annual payroll schedule for clients' companies taking into consideration the tax strategies to consider impact of the various tax law changes and the mix of salary v dividends and work to develop a financial model for the salary/dividend matrix and other tax minimization strategies.

Prepare, with minimal instruction, accurate correspondence for clients and tax authorities as needed.

Recognize and promptly advise reviewers of problems encountered, including performing research for and develop models to assess project financing and investment analysis for both investments in real estate and other matters.

Properly manage and plan for timely completion of all assignments.

Ensure assignments completed within budget reporting to Partner deliverables.

Keep Partner apprised of all work and perform other tasks requests as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS



CPA designation or recently successful candidate of CFE.

Minimum three years of relevant Canadian public accounting experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven time management skills, positive attitude and ability to multitask and perform assignments within budget.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, a self-starter who takes pride in their work.

Experience with Caseware/CaseView; Intuit Profile; Sage Simply Accounting, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Office.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3-9 months

Pay: $70,340.00-$73,416.00 per year
