About the Team We\'re working on making machine learning core to Workday\'s products by building data products and auto-ml models that can be scaled out to hundreds of use cases within Workday. About the Role

We\'re developing a new user behavior metrics pipeline designed to be applied across a wide range of applications within Workday. We need a Senior Software Development Engineer to help us develop these systems, make them production-ready, support their operation, and maintain their infrastructure as we deploy them. In this role you will help design and maintain a system that can scale up to our largest use-cases, all without breaking a sweat.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and build data pipelines that collect and interpret implicit user feedback from ML features in production

Transform noisy data into valuable information that drives continuous improvement of our ML features

Bring operations best-practices from within and outside the organization, and influence workflow and technology choices across the team.

Demonstrate consistency & reliability. Serve as a technical role model for more junior engineers.

Provide and receive PR feedback that helps you and your colleagues improve their practice and learn from each other.

Contribute to design documents for new system components and enhancements to existing components

Develop relationships with software engineers, DevOps engineers, and product managers across our organization

About You

In addition to showing operational excellence required to help meet our SLAs, you must have a mentality of continuous improvement, passion for quality, scale, and security. You must be curious and prepared to question or challenge choices and practices where they don\'t make sense to you or could be improved. A strong sense of ownership and collaboration are key to succeed.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, math or equivalent

5 or more years of industry software engineering experience with exposure to data engineering

5 or more years of expertise with Python and SQL

3 or more years of validated experience developing, deploying, and supporting high performance systems in production

Other Qualifications

Demonstrable experience with industry tools used to build scalable machine learning systems, such as AWS, Elasticsearch/Open Search, Kubernetes, and Spark

Experience with airflow or similar python-based DAG orchestration tools

An ability to balance a sense of urgency with shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions

Ability to teach and learn from your teammates.
