Position Overview

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for translating complex technical specifications into high-quality, tested, and fully functioning applications. This role involves hands-on development, troubleshooting, solution design, and integration work across multiple enterprise technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with technical and business teams throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and provide expertise in Siebel, reporting tools, data integrations, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

Translate technical systems specifications into fully tested applications. Develop detailed programming specifications. Write, generate, and maintain code and data-driven programs. Conduct unit testing and participate in integration and system testing. Troubleshoot and resolve software problems during implementation, conversion, and migration. Assist with technical issues arising post-implementation. Collaborate with IT professionals across all SDLC phases. Develop, design, test, debug, and document applications. Engage with stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements. Participate in design walkthroughs and contribute to architectural discussions.

General Skills & Experience

Extensive programming and system analysis experience. Strong collaboration ability within multi-disciplinary IT teams. Experience with structured development methodologies. Proficiency in object-oriented or third-generation programming languages. Hands-on experience with application design, patterns, deployment, and troubleshooting. Experience working with relational & hierarchical databases. Expertise in query languages and information retrieval packages. Understanding of communication protocols and integration patterns. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Skills

Experience with Internet-ready applications and rapid application development (RAD). Knowledge of information management best practices. Familiarity with middleware, gateways, and installation script modification. Ability to provide system/user documentation and post-implementation support. Understanding of AODA regulations and standards. Experience with design walkthroughs and code review practices.

Siebel Development Skills (40%)

10+ years of Siebel technical configuration, design, development, and integration. 5+ years integrating Siebel with Adobe AEM, J2EE, and related technologies. 5+ years of Siebel EIM/EAI experience. 3+ years working with Siebel IP18. Experience with Assignment Manager, Business Rules, Workflows, Applets, Views, Screens, scripting. Expertise with Siebel Tools, Web Templates, Open UI, PM/PR models, and OOTB file structures. Experience configuring Siebel Migration Application and administering Siebel Approval Manager. Experience with UI integrations and embedding external applications.

Report Development Skills (35%)

Experience developing reports using OBIEE and Power BI. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript. Working knowledge of Open UI concepts, PM/PR, Manifest & Mapping files.

Soft Skills (20%)

Exceptional written and verbal communication. Strong analytical and conceptual thinking. Ability to collaborate with both technical and functional teams. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

Public Sector Experience (5%)

Experience with Siebel Public Sector CRM modules (asset but not required). Experience with Grants Management (nice to have).

Additional Assets (Oracle Developer Profile)

Experience conducting impact assessments for Oracle E-Business Suite customizations. Strong PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix shell scripting, ODI experience. Understanding of GL, AR, AP, Collections, Inventory modules. SQL tuning and partition table expertise. Data warehouse, ETL, OBIEE experience. Java / Oracle ADF experience.
