POSITION OVERVIEW
Quanser is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Software Developer to join our Business Intelligence & Efficiencies team. This group designs and develops internal software that powers data-driven decision-making and process automation across the company.
You'll work closely with other developers, analysts, and data scientists to build reliable, well-structured systems that make smart use of modern AI capabilities. The role blends solid full-stack development with opportunities to explore how emerging AI frameworks can be applied to real business problems: automating data flows, improving information access, or generating actionable insights from complex datasets.
We're looking for a developer who's passionate about writing clean, maintainable code and who's naturally curious about new tools and methods that push what software can do.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable, scalable software systems used across the organization.
• Develop intelligent, data-connected applications that enhance automation and decision-making, integrating AI capabilities such as RAG, agent frameworks, and model APIs where they add value.
• Explore emerging AI frameworks and tools to identify practical opportunities for business improvement.
• Build and integrate APIs, databases, and front-end components that support a wide range of business functions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, engineers, and data scientists, to design efficient workflows and data pipelines.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, and cloud deployments.
• Apply sound software engineering principles, emphasizing performance, maintainability, testing, and clear documentation.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and continuous improvement of development standards and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline - or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming (C#, Java, or similar).
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and data structures.
• Experience with Python and at least one modern web or scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
• Familiarity with SQL databases, APIs, and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Version control experience with Git and exposure to CI/CD workflows.
• Interest in applying open-source AI frameworks and understanding of concepts such as vectorization, RAG, and AI agents.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences and align solutions with business needs.
• Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable exploring new technologies and frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, with attention to quality and maintainability.
