Position Overview

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for translating technical system specifications into fully functional, high-quality software applications in an enterprise environment. The role involves hands-on development, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and reporting activities within Siebel and related technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to ensure efficient and timely delivery of system enhancements and solutions.

Responsibilities

Translate technical specifications into robust, tested applications. Develop detailed programming specifications and write/generate high-quality code. Compile data-driven programs, maintain applications, and conduct unit testing. Troubleshoot issues arising during software operation, including supporting implementations, conversions, and migrations. Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Design, code, test, debug, and document enterprise applications. Support integration activities and utilize structured development methodologies. Provide technical problem resolution and post-implementation support. Participate in design walkthroughs, code reviews, and quality assurance activities. Create user and system documentation as required.

General Skills & Experience

Strong programming and analysis background; ability to support complex software packages. Experience with structured methodologies for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of applications. Hands-on experience with third-generation/object-oriented development tools. Strong application design competency using latest design patterns. Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies. Skilled in query languages and information retrieval systems. Familiarity with multiple communication protocols. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and documentation skills. Proven ability to work effectively in teams and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

Experience developing Internet-ready applications. Knowledge of rapid application development (RAD) methodologies. Understanding of information management principles and practices. Experience with middleware, gateways, and installation script modifications. Ability to lead design walkthroughs and provide post-implementation support. Knowledge of AODA standards and accessibility compliance.

Additional Skills for Oracle Software Developers (Asset)

Impact assessment experience for Oracle E-Business customizations and extensions. Conversion experience in AR Collection modules. Strong programming abilities in Oracle technologies (PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix shell scripts, ODI). Business knowledge across GL, AR, Collections, AP, and Inventory modules. Understanding of Oracle EBS table structures and SQL tuning. Experience with ETL, data warehousing, OBIEE, Java, and ADF. Demonstrated technical leadership and communication strengths.

Report Development -- 35%

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $55.00 per hour
