About the Team At Workday, we help the world\xe2\x80\x99s largest organizations adapt to what\xe2\x80\x99s next by bringing finance, HR, and planning into a single enterprise cloud. Financials Accounts Payable development team is in the center of it all and has touch points with nearly all other financial applications teams. The team\xe2\x80\x99s overall goal is to provide high business value for the customers by accelerating the delivery of our product features in an Agile environment while safeguarding the high quality our customers expect from Workday Financial applications. The team handles features to create and manage invoices that record purchase events and create liability. We support critical functionality that enables customers to use data entered or defaulted from purchase orders, receipts, timesheets, task logs, supplier contracts, customer invoices, and more.

The team has been successful in using Workday\xe2\x80\x99s machine learning capabilities to innovate and modernize multiple features and has been planning to use machine learning on more features in our roadmap. The team also supports EDI 810 integration, Procurement Card, reporting, and other tools to help customers manage information flow, organization policies, and business processes. The analytics and reporting gathered from the data gives high visibility into company spend, helping customers make informed decisions.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Application Engineer, you will have the opportunity to solve complex problems, which comes with developing and delivering global, critically important, enterprise software using your expertise in design, coding, algorithms, and complexity analysis. Your primary focus will be to:

• Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software features
• Take initiative, exhibit creative-thinking, have the motivation turn ideas into reality, and have a passion for user experience
• Solve relevant problems in an application related to performance, scalability, and resilience
• Design and develop an object-oriented product that is hosted in the cloud
• Write and maintain solid, robust, efficient and maintainable code using an object-oriented framework and tools
• Write reliable unit, integration, and system level tests that will run on our CD pipeline.
• Mentor and learn from other team members through pairing, code reviews, knowledge sharing, hackathons, etc.

About You

Business Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience delivering web applications, SaaS (Software as a Service) or web services
• 8 + years of experience with Object-oriented (OO) design and development experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, C#, XpressO, etc.
• 8+ years of experience with unit testing tools like JUnit and/or other test-driven development tools.
• 8+ years of experience with object-oriented design patterns, class modeling, and XML technology

Other Qualifications:

• Experience in building large scale enterprise business application (in the area of Financials is preferred)
• Experience with Metadata-driven definitional development.
• Experience with integration technologies and agile methodologies.
