Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Senior Server Analyst is responsible for all tasks related to Corporate and Academic servers and related systems for all OCDSB site. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- plan, research, design, test, implement, install, maintain, and support all new and existing systems (i.e. hardware/software/applications/utilities);
- provide technical expertise and training to users;
- assign work to and provide assistance and support to other technical staff;
- communicate with hardware and software companies for assistance and support.
- Community College Diploma in Computer Technology and 3 years related experience; (an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered).
- The incumbent must possess a valid Class "G" driver\'s license.
- Extensive experience in more than one of the following areas: HP Storage Area Networks, HP Data Protector, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft System Center, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization, VMware ESX virtualization, VMware Horizon View and Microsoft Azure.
- Must possess the technical skills to provide assistance to users on the network and server functions; including analytical and troubleshooting to identify and solve software/hardware problems; and listening skills to understand and identify problems and provide support on site or on the telephone.
- Written communications skills for structured documentation of the total network, file servers, operating systems and utilities
- Interpersonal and communication skills to exchange and clarify information, understand and respond to inquiries, using tact and diplomacy, when liaising with Board Personnel and companies.
- Organization and time management skills to prioritize work/projects and manage multiple priorities and concurrent demands;
- initiative and use good judgment when making decisions to correct and troubleshoot computer issues.
- Ability to research resources and information, review vendor documentation, to conduct internet searches and evaluate software.
- Aptitude for learning new materials and technology without instruction.
