Job Description


We are looking for a Senior IT Analyst for a 6-month contract position, with possible extensions, in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This is a remote position working primarily in the Mountain time zone.

Role Summary
Our client is looking for a Senior IT Analyst with in-depth experience working on Windows Server and Azure Cloud technologies. This opportunity with suit a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide Infrastructure expertise to facilitate and improve Business productivity, promote Infrastructure stability, and facilitate long-term growth.
  • Accountable for specific Areas of Responsibility (AoR), including up-to-date documentation, maintaining Service Levels, and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Stay current with existing company technologies and standards.
  • Keep apprised of alternate and new technologies that can be used to improve our Infrastructure.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Perform change management processes to ensure adequate control of systems and information.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years\' experience in Windows Server Administration.
  • Experience with:
  • Managing Servers, Enterprise applications and data workloads on-prem and in Azure.
  • Virtual Server and Hypervisor (Hyper-V) configuration and management.
  • Configuration and management of Remote Desktop Services or Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • MS SQL Server and Oracle database management.
  • Automated Server OS and Application patching.
  • Can work in a dynamic environment and adapt to rapid changes.
  • Able to handle competing requests and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Self-starter that takes initiative when it comes to completing all necessary tasks.
  • Able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Expert troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software.
  • Good communication skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with SolarWinds Monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Backup & Recovery with Veeam.
  • Previous experience working with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
  • Knowledge in Exchange Online Administration.
  • Experience working with Oil & Gas application support.
