This position is responsible for all sales and business development activities to promote SGS\' industrial services, from lead generation through to close. Sales emphasis will be on small and medium size customers in O&G, Power Generation, Renewable Energy, utility, and manufacturing industries at the given territory. The Sales Executive will be responsible for and prepare individual sales action plans, and tactics aligned with the overall sales strategy, target markets, and service offerings to ensure a targeted and focused approach that will contribute to the overall growth strategy of the business and maximize profit. Additionally, they will nuture and grow current sales opportunities, prospect and develop new markets to meet required revenue targets within defined areas of responsibility. Incumbents will work colloboratively with external clients, C suite Executives, SGS Operations, and fellow Account Executives as one team to achieve growth through customer satisfaction. It is expected that Sales Executives contribute to sales and marketing intelligence and maintain a high profile in the industry for the Company

Specific Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accountable for meeting annually established sales and profitability targets within approved expense budgets for assigned geographic markets.
  • Prepare individual sales plans with goals/objectives: Identify, research, plan and contact potential and existing clients to maintain and establish new business to achieve targeted revenue growth.
  • Follow the sales full cycle from lead generations, customer relations, through to close.
  • Has the ability to meet and present information to all levels to a client/prospect. From C suite Executive to Procurement and Operations
  • Meet regularly with new client prospects and existing clients, for new business development and client retention.
  • Research new customers, prospect for new customers using the internet, phone, cold calling and personal visits.
  • Provide accurate forecasts, and pipelines, on a regular basis.
  • Work vigilantly to create a positive customer experience and value throughout the sales process, to differentiate SGS from its competitors
  • Report developments in the marketplace and competitor activities (market intelligence)
  • Develop and execute competitive sales strategies to gain market share.
  • Participates in and implements campaigns and strategies to promote the sale of the SGS Industrial divisional services.
  • Working with all sales support groups (Marketing, Inside Sales) to support initiatives and lead generation.
  • Prepares client quotes, service agreements, proposals, responses to RFQ\'s, RFP\'s or tenders within set deadlines ensuring professional submission of all information as requested by clients and with proper collaboration of inside SGS sales support to ensure that project scope, schedules and budgets are accurately planned, monitored, communicated and met.
  • Participates in cross-selling initiatives and generates cross selling opportunities with other business lines where applicable.
  • Secure closure on all proposals and is responsible for follow up with clients after project closure.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports of sales activities, without fail. (e.g. client visits/calls, information) using the existing systems (CRM).
  • Present and represents SGS at Trade Shows and Conferences to build SGS brand awareness and broaden the market and client base.
  • Pursues opportunities to expand Company profile and client relationships
  • May be assigned special or related ad hoc projects from time-to-time within the company.
Qualifications

Profile
  • Education: University degree Administration/Engineering
  • Experience: Ten years of related sales/business development experience in professional services
  • Ability to travel across the region he/she is responsible from to sell to existing clients and to new prospects approximately 25% of time
  • TIC industry experience is an asset
  • Post graduate degree is also an asset
Specific technical skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in business line services of O&G, P&U, Infrastructure & Manufacturing
  • Proven ability to secure new business through RFP/RFI responses
  • Proven ability to identify new opportunities with prospects
  • Business acumen and demonstrated expertise in the specific business sector
  • Ability to demonstrate customer centric selling techniques.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Must be a self motivator and self starter.
  • Creative, innovative and client focussed
  • Demonstrate diplomacy and networking skills
  • Bilingualism (French/English) where required
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook) including sales tracking tools (i.e. CRM).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Ability to work well with others & independently.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure.
