The Lobby Restaurant and Lounge is located at the Pier Hotel at the Pier (North Vancouver) just steps away from Lonsdale Quay and the Seabus Terminal in North Vancouver Historic Shipyard.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Restaurant Manager to oversee the 150 seat restaurant. The Lobby Restaurant is a full service restaurant servicing hotel guest for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The successful candidate will be organized, marketing focused, team leader, outgoing, charismatic, friendly and professional.
Our Front of the house team is held to the highest standards and delivers exceptional service, food and drink while creating a unique experience to every one of our guests.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily restaurant operations with a focus on efficiency, accountability, and service consistency.
Manage recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain a disciplined team.
Control labour & beverage costs and achieve budget targets through tight oversight of inventory, payroll, and labour management.
Implement and enforce operational procedures, including menu setup, pricing, coursing, and POS (Micros) programming.
Uphold strict compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Lead guest relations by resolving concerns directly, ensuring service recovery, and maintaining brand standards.
Ordering and inventory control.
Drive revenue through focused upselling of wine, beverages, and premium add-ons to enhance the guest experience.
Support menu development and operational adjustments as required.
Marketing of the restaurant through print ads, social media, local and in house hotel guests.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior Restaurant Manager.
Comprehensive understanding of restaurant financials, labour control, and compliance standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead, discipline, and motivate a diverse team in a demanding environment.
Strong command of English with excellent communication and documentation skills.
Able to work long, irregular hours including early mornings, weekends, and late evenings.
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and uncompromising when it comes to operational standards.
Hotel catering experience with booking events from start to finish.
