Senior Unconventional Reservoir Engineer We are looking for a Senior Unconventional Reservoir Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Asset Manager, the successful candidate will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary asset team, driving value generation through the identification, characterization, planning and execution of appraisal and development projects. The role will require the successful candidate to provide Reservoir Engineering expertise and support as needed to the Central East Asset Team. Duties:
Developing optimal depletion strategies for assigned areas
Together with the team, integrating geological, geophysical, and engineering data across a broad scope of conventional and unconventional reservoirs
Performing type curve and well test analysis on prospective reservoirs
Constructing reservoir models as required in conjunction with geoscience staff to quantify resource in place, assess performance, and identify opportunities
Applying reservoir engineering knowledge, including rate and pressure transient analysis, reservoir modelling, volumetrics, material balance, waterflood/EOR analysis and other related interpretation techniques
In conjunction with other disciplines, determining optimal well design and well density
Completing the annual reserve evaluation of existing producing wells/pools
Assessing the potential, making recommendations, and executing on enhanced recovery projects
Supporting prioritized business development valuations and commercial initiatives
Assisting Joint Venture and Mineral Land staff with the assessment of non-operated assets
Providing mentorship to less experienced colleagues within the Development organization
Requirements:
Professional Engineer with 10+ years of oil and gas experience
Experience on the owner/producer side as a Reservoir Engineer in unconventional plays in Alberta such as Montney, Wilson Creek or Caroline plays is a must have
Enthusiastic, highly motivated team player with good communication, organizational and technical skills
Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing and executing multiple assignments with minimal supervision
A practical mindset and strong commercial acumen
Experience working with Harmony, WellTest, AccuMap, ValNav, WellView and Petrel/Eclipse/Intersect
Creative individual with a desire to continuously learn and develop their own skills, as well as build up the organizational capacity of more junior engineers
Experience in generating risked production profiles and recoverable volume estimates for both conventional and unconventional Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin plays
Experience with external stakeholder communications/negotiations (partners, government)
Experience with AER regulatory applications/amendment/approvals
