Due to growth, we are currently seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our TGA Property Management team. As a member of the property management team, the key responsibilities of the Senior Property Accountant include but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements, profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries as required for insurance, property taxes, management fees, cleaning, etc.
  • Prepare monthly rent charges
  • Process all cash receipts
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for the property bank accounts
  • Maintain the G/L and working paper files for all properties, prepare management accounts and working papers supporting the numbers
  • Maintain financial integrity with respect to tenant billings and property management; specifically, adhere to lease agreements
  • Maintain internal control systems and ensure the safeguarding of all confidential information
  • Comply with relevant reporting requirements
  • Calculate and prepare tax payments
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Other financial reporting as requested by the Controller
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller
Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • 5+ years of property accounting experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Yardi Voyageur
  • Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a professional accounting designation
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel is required
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A team player who can work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, cope with changing priorities
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
