Senior Project Manager

JLL is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Senior Project Manager to provide reliable, timely, and professional support to the Project Team, leading day to day project management activities for major capital projects in the public and private sectors.

This is an important \xe2\x80\x9cclient-facing\xe2\x80\x9d role that requires heightened situational awareness, diplomacy, sensitivity, and a solid business acumen. Our successful candidate will be a confident communicator, with the gravitas to liaise with a range of professionals and business partners. The Project Manager will be interacting directly with clients fully accountable for JLL\xe2\x80\x99s performance in the delivery of project. This position will require the ability to exhibit independent judgment to proactively plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse team and workload in a fast-paced environment. What this job involves:

Project Management

  • Ensuring projects are completed within scope, schedule, budget, and meeting client expectations.
  • Managing multiple projects in various phases of development.
  • Negotiating and holding all parties accountable to their contracts.
  • Managing and coordinating the activities of large project teams including owners, regional and local design consultants, contractors, suppliers, AHJs, security, AV and IT vendors, operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinating between base building and tenant improvement scope and negotiating with landlords.
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining specified project management processes.
  • Proactively communicating with your client; maintaining project status and tracking reports.
  • Detailed financial and schedule management and reporting.
  • Utilizing a custom project management platform/technology.
  • Leading project meetings: ensuring minutes are quickly distributed and properly filed.
  • Proactively foreseeing and documenting project risks and risk mitigation plans.
  • Actively troubleshooting, problem solving and tracking project performance indicators.
  • Managing JLL\xe2\x80\x99s financial performance per project.
Team Management
  • Fostering a project environment of accountability, excellence, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Energizing, supervising, mentoring, and supporting others on your team.
Relationships
  • Cultivating new and existing business relationships.
  • Collaborating with JLL peers, partners and clients.
  • Building trust with owners, landlords, developers, institutions, consultants, and contractors.

  • Leading pursuit strategy, sourcing, positioning, proposing, and securing of new projects.
  • Strategically networking and positioning JLL as a leader in project management services.

  • 10+ years of local experience pursuing and delivering capital \xe2\x80\x9cbuildings\xe2\x80\x9d projects, including new construction, renovations, fit-outs, and/or upgrades.
  • Possess \xe2\x80\x9cOwner Representative\xe2\x80\x9d project management experience working directly for a Client in a fee-for-service consulting business environment.
  • Led major capital projects of $2M+ from inception to completion without supervision
  • Corporate Office Tenant Improvements experience
  • Demonstrated client relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and solution development
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to drive consistency in a team or on a project
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Microsoft Project
  • Scheduling, estimating, cost control experience
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Travel as needed per project
Preferred Attributes
  • Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar education is an asset.
  • P.Eng. or similar professional designation is an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Sustainability designation such as LEED, CSP, ENV SP is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; articulate, responsive, and highly organized.
  • Skilled at MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with MS Project or other scheduling software is an asset.
  • Bilingual ENG/FR an asset
