Trillium Health Partners is currently in the planning stages of a long term infrastructure plan announced by the Ontario government which has dedicated significant funding to support the construction of new hospital projects across Ontario. As part of this plan, THP is growing the multi-disciplinary team that will lead planning for the redevelopment and expansion of both the Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre sites. With constant inputs on design and planning considerations from all the respective expertise on the team, our goal is to work together to ultimately produce a holistic and inclusive design.

Position Overview:

Trillium Health Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Capital Planning and Redevelopment portfolio. Reporting to the Director, Planning and Design (Mississauga Hospital (M) and Queensway Health Centre (Q) site), the Project Manager will be responsible for supporting THP's Broader Redevelopment Project (BRP) at M/Q site.

M Site project is a full replacement of the existing Mississauga Hospital. The new build will accommodate acute beds and a full complement of clinical and non-clinical support programs.

Q Site project is envisioned to create a new post-acute inpatient tower at Queensway Health Centre including clinical and non-clinical support programs.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with external stakeholders and act as a key point of contact for coordination of activities with Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario;
  • Lead the progression of the project through the Ontario Ministry of Health's capital planning process stages including coordination of submissions and logs;
  • Lead the Infrastructure Ontario project requirements including Due Diligence, Project Charter, Project Agreement (PA), Project Implementation Plan (PIP), Request for Qualification (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), etc;
  • Support execution of deliverables, communication, briefing notes related to municipal/regional applications including City of Toronto (Q), City of Mississauga (M), Hydro one network inn (HONI), etc
  • Lead the development of materials such as reports, briefing notes, business cases, requests for proposals, presentations, data analyses and communications for the project(s) for all levels of the THP project governance including Steering Committee, CEO meeting, Board of Directors, as well as government and external partners;
  • Support the development and dissemination of project control documents, including status reports, master schedule, risk / issue analyses and reports and project plans;
  • Represent project team at key meetings and committees with senior and executive leadership.
  • Support communication with project working groups and sub committee's that are integral to the success of the project(s);
  • Build trusted relationships with the project team, Project Control Office (PCO) and key internal stakeholders to advance key initiatives;
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure resource changes and project requirements are met and understood;
  • Project point of contact with Communication and Government Relations, operational planning, and joint operations working group;
  • Support project research, literature reviews and data / information gathering to enhance subject-matter knowledge relevant to the project;
  • Support user group engagement and construction activities as required
  • Align decision making process, SOP, etc within Broader Redevelopment Project (BPR) including M, Q, and parkade enabling projects.
  • Other duties assigned, as required to meet timelines and deliverables.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in business, life sciences, health informatics or related discipline required
  • Masters degree in public administration, business administration, or healthcare administration or equivalent experience an asset
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals, long-term care, government or private sector required
  • Understanding of the health capital planning environment in Ontario, including experience working with Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care, LHINs, Infrastructure Ontario, municipalities, and/or other agencies having jurisdictions an asset
  • Experience with project management processes and best practices, as well as corporate level reporting
  • Experience with effective communication with physicians, clinicians, and senior leaders required
  • Experience effectively engaging with and managing third-party partners and delivery partners required
  • Experience with government relations is an asset
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think proactively and to anticipate needs of senior leaders
  • Superior analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Superior data analysis and manipulation skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at leading and working with teams as well as working independently
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing ambiguity
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines, multi task and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Effective interpersonal communications skills and ability to successfully build relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians
  • Superior writing skills
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, especially the Microsoft Office suite
