BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Senior Project Manager. This is a full-time permanent position Hybrid- working from our facilities in Windsor or Dartmouth with the option to work from home.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the primary communication conduit between BIOVECTRA and clients, including internal advocacy for the client project, follow-up and updates on project status, and promoting direct communication between clients and the required internal company representatives.
  • Developing and managing all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, internal/external relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
  • Offering leadership to core project team(s) by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to Project Managers on project management principles and best practices.
  • Utilizing a strategic level of technical and operational program knowledge to engage operational leadership and provide proactive clarity to all contributors during all key project inflection points to drive the best potential outcome (e.g., initial onboarding, life cycle progression - clinical delivery, process validation and commercial preparations).
  • Participating as part of the contract acquisition team during late-stage discussions to finalize the contract - identifying barriers to meeting timelines, budgets or achieving service/product quality and providing potential solutions.
  • Reviewing signed contracts, and in particular the statement of work, to ensure understanding of contractual deliverables required to complete the project within committed timelines and budget.
  • Utilizing internal project management tracking and reporting tools to always keep the project status current and visible.
  • Providing status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
  • Delivering appropriate and effective executive level communication.
  • Collaborating with Administrative Services to deliver orders on time and in accordance with client requirements and contractual commitments.
  • Conducting regular project reviews, as well as retrospective analysis following completion of a project, to ensure opportunities for improvement in future project management process are identified, documented, and implemented.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of the PMO Playbook, including best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  • May be assigned to lead a single or multiple Project Managers on a given program or portfolio of similar projects.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • Post-Secondary Education with an Undergraduate degree. B.Sc. in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
M.Sc. would be considered an asset.
PMP designation would be considered an asset. * Eight years of project management, or similar, experience in an outsourcing industry, preferably the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industries, or pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical/generics product management experience.
