We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Toronto, Ontario (CA-ON), Canada (CA).

IT Project Manager/Leader

Responsibilities

Individual will work with a fast-paced global leader in IT Services, driving internal teams to deliver solutions that protect our client\'s data and promote business value.

Provides project management of multiple large scale, complex, high profile and high-risk projects for Client IT initiatives. Ensures project deliverables meet clients\' business requirements on time, scope and budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance utilizing Client\'s project management methodologies and frameworks. Actively promote continuous improvement in Project Delivery Team processes, tools and technologies.

  • Project Manager 3-6 years experience leading multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Senior Project Manager 6+years experience leading multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Project Management\'s Institute\'s Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management (including record keeping) policies and practices.
  • Experience working with global teams.
  • Manufacturing industry experience working in a customer facing role.
Proven experience with:
  • Develop project plans including, but not limited to, aspects such as project objectives, measurable metrics, tools to be used, impacted systems, system specifications, schedules, project budgeting and stakeholders.
  • Prioritize critical tasks during the planning phase to ensure critical functionality continuity in the short term.
  • Articulate project objectives and establish tracking mechanisms to measure and track these objectives.
  • Update key stakeholders, their roles on the project and their upstream and downstream system dependencies.
  • Identify change management needs and process changes to prepare detailed organization-wide change management strategies for all teams impacted by systems implementations, upgrades, and ongoing modifications.
  • Manage project execution to adhere to the project budget, scope and schedule.
  • Report statuses, progress, risks, and deviations to the steering committee, executive leadership (where needed) and key stakeholders.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies to plan tasks, perform effort estimations where needed, create test scripts with SMEs and coordinate the activities of all project personnel to ensure that the project moves towards its goals.
  • Leads planning and execution of projects including funding gate requests.
  • Gathers and develops requirements to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
  • Sources, selects and on-boards team members in various disciplines. Clarify roles and responsibilities and set task/deliverable/performance expectations for all resources.
  • Resolves resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiates changes to resourcing, and ensures knowledge is shared amongst team members so that project objectives and deliverables are met.
  • Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, forecasts, and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals.
  • Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed. Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior management levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.
  • Establishes and participates in steering committee and stakeholder forums. Provides, project, program, and/or portfolio reporting to multi-stakeholders at senior management levels.
  • Uses appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects - concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out.
  • Promotes Client IT standards and best practices for project management to facilitate control of system quality, adherence to standard methodology and the control of the use of IT resources.
