As a Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Manager of Projects, you will provide overall management and direction for several projects and successfully take responsibility for overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality, project status and clients\' satisfaction. The incumbent may oversee other project team members, project managers, project coordinators, superintendents, project engineers, quality control inspectors, while maintaining relationships with sub-trades and clients. The position involves subcontractor negotiations, liaising with owners, architects, engineers, and sub-trades as well as management of changes, technical and financial aspects of contracts. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the Contract requirements, Company Policies and Procedures, and legislation and labour requirements. The incumbent may also lead and/or participate in, hiring other project team members.

Your work will include:

  • Overseeing all phases of the projects from design, estimating, manufacturing, construction and installation;
  • Developing and monitoring the project schedule, budget, reporting any deviation and providing solutions to get on track;
  • Managing construction budgets, analyzing, negotiating and approving requisitions, change orders, other invoices associated with the project and integrating any impact of any changes into the project overall plan;
  • Establishing construction plans and engineering methods;
  • Identifying project risks, problems and issues as early as possible; ensuring mitigating actions are in place to minimize impact;
  • Handling all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts;
  • Ensuring project profitability;
  • Understanding and enforcing contractual responsibilities, contract documents and resolving disputes;
  • Coordinating and ensuring compliance of all applicable Quality Control/Quality Assurance requirements and building codes;
  • Hiring, Managing, mentoring and coaching project team;

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Bachelor or preferably Master\'s degree in project management, construction management, architecture, engineering, or in any related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 10 years\' project management experience in design, construction and installations on Single and Multi-family Residential, Commercial and industrial;
  • Proven experience managing medium to large projects;
  • Experience working with various levels of government;
  • Contract law knowledge and contract management experience;
  • Computer proficiency - Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Scheduling Software: MS Project and/or Primavera;
  • Experience working with Aconex will be an asset;
  • Prior experience with Modular construction (including infrastructure) considered an asset;
  • Prior experiences in affordable/social housing and residential projects considered an asset;
  • Experience with wood frame construction will be an asset.
