What we are looking for:
The Senior Project Manager of Construction & Redevelopment will have authority and accountabilities related to the planning, management, and implementation of Redevelopment Projects, which vary in scale and complexity. The role will require a skill set which is rooted in project management fundamentals. The Redevelopment Projects include the new Development of Uxbridge site plus major renovations. The successful candidate will lead effective construction and renovation planning for all Oak Valley Health sites and ensure that the goals and objectives of the department and services are achieved in alignment with the hospitals master plan. This includes development and implementation of the full scope of service including procurement, efficient design, space utilization, planning and construction, and operational readiness.
What you bring to the role:
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering (preferably civil or structural), Urban Planning, Facility Management, or Construction Management. Equivalent experience and education will be considered.
  • 5-10 years of related experience in construction and redevelopment at a major hospital or a healthcare related project.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Microsoft Project, Excel, autocad and reading blue prints)
  • PMP Certification would be considered an asset
  • Experience planning for major projects ($100 million) including programming, concept development, implementation and construction
  • Knowledge of institutional construction estimating and procurement practices considered assets and understanding of Alternative Financing and Procurement preferred
  • Understanding of internal and external policies, processes and guidelines (e.g. Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Capital processes, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, hospital\xe2\x80\x99s infection prevention and control requirements etc.)
  • Understanding of Legislation, codes and policies regarding infection; prevention and controls regarding healthcare construction and renovations
  • Experience with creation of procurement documents (RFT, RFQ, RFP, RFSQ)
  • Experience with cost control measures and ability to make sound and cost-effective decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and foster teamwork among a variety of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and relevant health and safety regulations and building codes along with having
  • Proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications, financial reporting software, facility condition software and knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator are preferred assets
  • Sound knowledge of facility management principles with exposure/experience in partnering in construction projects would be an asset
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
  • Manage Capital projects to all of Oak Valley Health sites including Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday \xe2\x80\x93 37.5 hours/week.
Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.
Compensation: Band E Hourly : $43.66-$57.41 Annual: 85,137.00- $111,949.50
