Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Production Supervisor to join our client in the sustainable building materials sector.

Our client is committed to shaping a greener, smarter and healthier world, and is a leader in their sector. They are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for developing and implementing processes to improve plant efficiencies and minimize costs for the department.

Senior Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations with a safety-first approach, ensuring highest practical housekeeping standard
  • Create and manage production and labour schedules
  • Pursue continuous improvement to production costs, close the loop on quality issues with strong plans to prevent future issues
  • Review and approve payroll, ensuring costing allocations are accurate
  • Project Management of plant improvement and capital projects.
  • Assist in the development, cost economic analysis, writing and submittal of CER's
  • Maintain and develop key relationships and provide technical assistance to customers, industry officials, and city inspectors.
  • Coordinate ordering to maintain appropriate raw material levels.
  • Daily monitoring and corrective actions to ensure KPI targets are met.
  • Conduct monthly lead hand meetings and coach lead hands on how to run daily meetings
  • Work with the Quality Control team to ensure products are manufactured above industry standards
  • Evaluate and maintain concrete mix design for wet and dry cast products
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Coordinator, Sales Manager, Engineering, Sales and PMs
  • Encourage and promote an open working relationship with all plant employees
The successful candidate has:
  • 10+ years related experience in an operations capacity
  • Technical Diploma is preferred
  • Proven ability to manage and supervise a staff of 40+ employees
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Strong leadership skills and takes ownership of his/her areas.
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, research, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • The ability to be flexible on hours of work (Monday to Friday: 1: 00 to 9: 00 or 8: 00 to 4: 00)
  • Desire to move into Operations Management in future
