Location: Remote First / London Office Hybrid

Who You Are
:

With a solid background in all aspects of product design, but specialised in UX, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have a proven track record of creating digital product solutions at pace. A keen eye for clean and simple design, possess superior UX skills that can translate discovery findings into flows, functional prototypes and user experiences, using current design software (Figma). On a day-to-day basis, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be working closely with the Design, Product Management and Technology teams to deliver an approach that works for all parties, our customers and the business. We are a relatively small team, so in this occasionally stakeholder-facing role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll also need to be able to quickly grasp a product\xe2\x80\x99s architecture and direction and respond appropriately.


What we are looking for
:

  • UX heavyweight, 5yrs+ experience, with light UI.
  • Ability to take discovery, research and concept to building prototypes through to visual design using design system components in Figma.
  • Demonstrate a UX-focused Product Design portfolio with multiple case studies of products you worked on.
  • A natural problem solver, using the appropriate design methods.
  • Champion user needs, whilst delivering solutions for the business with consideration of the technical limitations.
  • Enjoy influencing product strategy. Ability to negotiate, prioritise, and break down design work into measurable outcomes.
  • Experience in helping define a vision for a product area.
  • Comfortable working with OKRs and hypothesis-driven product development.
  • Experience in balancing data-driven decisions with design expert intuition.
  • Stand for the quality of our product. Knowing when to challenge the brief if necessary.
  • Ability to discuss and explain your design decisions and back them up by applying customer insights and business metrics.
  • User Research and Testing experience. Define and run user research sessions.
  • Analytical thinker. You can think through complex interaction problems with a systematic approach and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in the fast-paced startup environment that is operating remotely around the globe
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, in cross-functional teams

:

  • Any coding knowledge
  • Experience with Analytics tools
  • Comfortable with UX copywriting
  • Experience working in a high-growth product-led startup
  • Experience working in Financial Services sector / FinTech and/or SaaS

Key Responsibilities and Challenges

What the job involves:

  • Work through design problems from beginning to end: unpacking the problem, ideating new products and features, prototyping, user validation and finally creating detailed interactions to handover to engineering
  • Sketch/wireframe and prototype ideas to assess the viability of a solution early on in the design process
  • Validate design solutions with our target audience, using both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Collate business needs as well as iterate on feedback from teams and analytics
  • Collaborate with PMs as they define product development focus areas and with engineers as they build
  • Champion best practices of usability and user-centric design.
  • Identify and document (UX) design patterns. Establish and work to Design Principles.


Requirements
:

  • Proven experience working as a Product/UX designer for 5+ years
  • A solid grasp of Human Centred Design and a record of implementing UX/UI work.
  • Confidence working in isolation or with the wider team at any given moment throughout the process.
  • Strong portfolio of key projects delivered in past years, calling out your role on the project, deliverables and responsibilities articulated
  • In-Depth knowledge and experience in user research and testing, with the ability to approach to dissect both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Excellent communication skills and a portfolio which demonstrates strong problem-solving ability in various phases of research, design and delivery
  • Ability to highlight and gather design requirements independently
  • Extensive experience building prototypes
  • High proficiency in Figma.
  • Comfortable working with Design Systems in an organised manner.
  • Experience developing detailed, holistic user-flow specifications and design patterns
  • Worked within collaborative, cross-functional teams to deliver multiple projects
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Great organisational skills, able to juggle and prioritise
