As part of our dynamic team, you will:
Anticipate, identify, and research freight transportation issues and
Plan and lead policy and research and analysis studies to address potential challenges and opportunities
Consult and solicit input on proposed policies with stakeholders
Develop in-depth reports, present policy options and recommendations
Develop relationships with key municipal and industry stakeholders
Lead and/or participate in intergovernmental /inter-ministerial review and consultation processes
Provide analytical advice, options and recommendations on potential legislative and regulatory changes

Transportation Knowledge
You have:
knowledge of multi-modal transportation theory, principles and practices
knowledge of socio-economic theory and principles to assess the economic, social, fiscal and corporate implications of initiatives and proposals

Project Management Skills
You can:
lead and manage options analyses and policy review and development processes under strict timelines.
support the development of projects that improve the Ministry's oversight and management of the transportation sector in Ontario.

Communication Skills
You can:
lead and represent the ministry on inter- jurisdictional policy consultations and negotiations and resolve issues
coordinate, prepare and present reports, policy analyses, briefing notes and issues analyses to senior management
operate standard office software programs and tools to research and prepare own materials

Relationship Management
You can:
develop effective linkages and consultation frameworks with inter-jurisdictional stakeholders
present and explain program policy positions and promote strategic initiatives to a variety of stakeholders

Analytical Skills
You can:
research issues, gaps, and trends and develop strategic policy recommendations/options
identify and develop procedural frameworks, program objectives, parameters and implementation plans
