Clough has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pipe Designer to join the team! In this role you will effectively Responsible for design effort (i.e. 3D Modelling, design drawings, working closely with the Lead / Senior Piping - Mechanical Engineers and Lead Designer to ensure timely, cost effective and fit for purpose engineering and design output complying with project cost & schedule constraints. Possess a detailed understanding and provide engineering and installation design support for the development of concepts related to process plants, plant layouts and piping systems, in compliance with relevant statutory codes of practice for Clough.

Your focus will include:


  • Must be capable of developing a team work ethic with peers and internal clients.

  • May require local and overseas travel from time to time to perform on site surveys, interface with fabricators and inspections of fabricated pipe spools / piping installations and interface with client representatives.

  • Requires the ability to work without the need for direct supervision.

  • Deputies for the Lead Piping Designer as required.

  • Requires the acknowledgement that work hours will be required as dictated by workload, schedule and project requirements.

  • Accountable for performance and delivery of engineering services to support project outcomes against agreed project budgets and schedules.

  • Responsible for complying with the required technically acceptable standard of work for the discipline group and producing engineering design deliverables for project execution.

  • Delegate as necessary, while working within the framework and policies and higher delegations of the business.

  • Work with Technical Specialists to ensure specification compliance, technical integrity of design (technical performance).

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of systems across the division.

  • Manage customer relations to achieve mutually satisfactory and technical program outcomes.

  • Implement initiatives for product improvement (project time scales) and exploit favorable opportunities for variations in project scope.

  • Meet/discuss regularly with the discipline lead to report progress and areas of concern.

  • Be a proactive member of the project, prepared to work outside conventional boundaries in cooperation with other team members to ensure complete coverage of each work scope.

  • Ensure familiarity with the company's Management System, standard manuals, procedures and forms

  • Keep correspondence files and other basis documents and reports up to date.

  • Participate in squad checks of drawings, datasheets, schedules, specifications and purchase orders from all disciplines.

  • Provide construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning support to projects as required.

  • Participate in debriefing exercises or contribute to the development of company systems at the completion of projects, tenders and studies.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Minimum of 10 – 15 years of relevant, Drafting /Design experience in engineering / construction environments.

  • Requires detailed understanding of design drafting using 2D and 3D tools.

  • Experience in the following 3D tools would be advantages, PDS, S3D also consideration for PDMS

  • Duties will include but not limited to, the production and supervision of all piping discipline deliverables, Plant Layouts, General Arrangements, Isometrics and Pipe supports.

  • Excellent leadership skills

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills the ability to work constructively in a team environment

  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team

  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • Good computer literacy skills.
