First Credit Union is looking for an experienced financial service professional to join our team in Powell River as a Senior Member Service Representative with lending limits to improve the financial well-being of our community! What\'s the opportunity? This is an advisory position responsible for the recommendation and implementation of account, deposit and loan products offered by First Credit Union. Through building relationships and analyzing member needs, you\'ll identify and recommend the appropriate product or service with the goal of improving members\xe2\x80\x99 financial well-being. Some of these products and services include loans, registered products, card products, electronic services and referrals to other departments. You\'ll also be responsible for preparing lending applications and approving credit within their assigned limits or making recommendations for approval while serving members promptly and professionally. What will you do? Provide service excellence and foster member relationships by:

  • Analyzing member needs and building relationships through member onboarding.
  • Acting as a resource and example to other employees in regard to knowledge, experience, and superior member service.
Performing a variety of duties relating to the promotion, sale and administration of account, deposit, and loan products and services offered by First Credit Union. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Promoting and providing advice on deposit products and services, including registered and non-registered accounts, with the ability to discuss investment options such as term deposits.
  • Promoting and processing card products, including credit and debit cards as well as all electronic services.
  • Providing guidance and administration on account options and membership, including estate administration.
  • Completing loan applications, including interviews, collection of documentation, investigation, underwriting, and decision-making within assigned limits.
  • Approving loans within your delegated approval limits and/or recommending approval to the appropriate level of authority.
  • Actively pursuing opportunities to improve growth and the development of loan portfolios and pursue new business by establishing and maintaining relationships in the community.
What do you need to be successful?
  • Secondary school diploma.
  • Three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the financial, sales or service industry.
  • Education or equivalent experience with Products & Services, Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning, Consumer & Residential Mortgage Lending, and Business Financial Statement Analysis.
  • Superior knowledge of financial products and services.
  • Demonstrated accountability for both personal and branch-assigned growth goals, targets and major initiatives.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate the following skillsets:
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve, with strong organizational skills and emphasis on time management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented focus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform under pressure, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness and flexibility.
  • Ability to develop a correlation between personal actions, service execution, and member expectations.
