Carl, ShiftWhat does a day look like in my role?We get it: You want to know what youre signing up for before you apply, right? While this might look like a marketing generalist position - your super power would be that you are a seasoned creative content marketer with just the right amount of technical acumen to be dangerous (in the best way!).As an Senior Marketing Manager with Shift, youll be responsible for:
  • Reporting to the VP of Marketing, develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and adoption of Shift
  • Craft and implement strategic brand positioning initiatives to define unique value propositions and establish clear differentiation from competitors
  • Conceptualize and deploy engaging campaigns across diverse marketing channels to captivate our target audience
  • Manage and execute digital marketing strategies, including digital advertising, SEM/SEO, influencer marketing, affiliate/partner marketing, etc.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop digital content for a variety of channels including blog posts, newsletters, earned/owned media and social media platforms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Leadership, Product, Marketing, Customer Experience and our internal Shared Services creative team on strategic marketing initiatives
  • Analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and leverage data to continuously optimize and enhance results
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
  • Develop and maintain a content strategy that aligns with brand and business objectives
  • Review, recommend and ensure all branding for Shift is kept consistent
  • Inspire and mentor marketing team members and co-ops
  • Able to create structure and process where it currently does not exist. Strong entrepreneurial acumen with a self-starter personality.
Key milestones:
  • After 1 week
  • You will be onboarded within the marketing team to get a sense of how you will fit within the company
  • You will be introduced to the layers of our marketing strategy and your role in driving them forward
  • Youll be building rapport with the marketing team - in fact you wont just know what #MarkStrat means, you will be an active contributor to it
  • After 1 month
  • You will have immersed yourself in our brand and major marketing initiatives
  • You will understand our marketing strategy and calendar and begin to make an impact in both strategy and execution
  • You will have a firm grasp of our GA4 data, SEO and Content strategy and have insights on improvements that can be made
  • After 6 months
  • You will feel confident in your role and will be creating change across the organization
  • You have built a strong rapport with the Shift marketing team, the larger shared services team, as well as the product and customer experience teams
  • You are leading marketing initiatives from ideation to completion, understanding both short and long term goals of the brand and broader business objectives

  • 8+ years of Marketing experience with a focus on Tech/Software app that is D2C
  • Proven track record in brand marketing within small and midsize business (SMB)
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective integrated marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and ability to use data to inform decision making
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with creativity, innovation, and self-motivation
  • Able to create structure and process where it currently does not exist. Strong entrepreneurial acumen with a self-starter personality.
