The Team:

Global Technologies Application is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank\'s Investment Banking and Capital Markets businesses. GTA\'s Global Capital Markets Technology team is looking for a creative, quick learning, self-starting, results- and detail-oriented Sr. Manager, Business Analysis to oversee the analysis, requirements and support function for the Central Market Data solution of Scotia Capital Markets.

The Role

The department oversees multiple technology solutions spanning from front office to back-office risk. The role will be involved in management of enhancements and support of new features of the Central Market Data solution. The incumbent will work with key stakeholders from all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and authoring requirements for the Central Market Data platform, write and execute thorough test plans in addition to creating and designing data models & data mapping into documentations.
  • Ensure the development & implementation are on track, resolve any issues that may arise from technology implementation.
  • Demonstrates an informed knowledge of capital markets asset classes and risk factors (IR, Inflation, Credit, Equities and FX) and external market data vendors including MarkIT, Refinitiv and Bloomberg, to provide solutions for new requests and support issues.
  • Develop test cases and conduct unit, functional and integration testing for technology implementation, communicate with stakeholders to address any issues and concerns related testing.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of leading a team of BAs
  • 7 years BA experience in financial industry within the Capital Markets industry
  • Working knowledge of SQL, JSON, Restful services, Python or other scripting language
  • 5 + years of experience creating business / technical requirement documents.
  • 3+ years working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to take oral and written business requirements and develop efficient code to meet set deliverables
  • Ability to speak to senior level stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking is expected
