What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Will & Estate Consultants is responsible for the management and oversees the services provided by a group of will & estate planning professionals within the RBC Wealth Management Canada framework. As a Senior Manager on the Family Office Services (FOS) team, the role requires working cooperatively and effectively with the other Managers and Branch Managers to improve all parts of the FOS team and to ensure that the regional teams function effectively.

The Senior Manager is accountable to the Vice President National Estate Services for the achievement of agreed upon goals and objectives, for employee engagement and providing a superior client experience. This role also supports revenue generation as each team member is looking to spot and anchor new business opportunities with our high net worth client base. The final component of this role is the execution and support of Family Office Services initiatives and projects.

What will you do?

  • Manage a large team of will & estate planning professionals that is committed to a superior client experience as well as focused on revenue generation through the spotting of opportunities
  • Coach, manage and lead a team of professionals. This is done in a variety of ways including: one on one calls, face to face visits in their region, team conference calls, team meetings either on our own or with strategic partners, WMS team gatherings and regular performance reviews
  • Recruitment, identify, profile and develop top talent and Training of new team members
  • Act as relationship manager with Dominion Securities, WM Insurance, RBC PH&N Private Counsel, Private Banking, Financial Planning and Estate and Trust Services.
  • Manage Wealth Management business development with the National Director, Managing Director and Regional Managers of Dominion Securities
  • Execution and Support of FOS team initiatives and projects
  • Build a culture that supports not only spotting opportunities but also follow up and the anchoring of opportunities to aid in revenue generation
  • Encourage and aid in personal growth and development of team members
  • Utilize the reward and recognition program to reward excellent performance
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing large teams
  • Understanding of the retail full service brokerage business
  • Strategic planning for improvement and growth of the business
  • Change Leadership \xe2\x80\x93 can effectively cope with change and lead team through it
  • Hiring \xe2\x80\x93 can source and recognize strong talent
  • Results oriented \xe2\x80\x93 can set and meet goals for self as well coaching team to set and meet their goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English (since will be communicating with individuals across Canada)
Nice-to-have
  • University Degree
  • LLB / Notary or estate planning / settlement experience
