Reporting to the Director of Connectivity & Infrastructure, the Senior Manager, Voice and Cable Networks is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to direct reports as well managing capital projects relating to implementation of Northwestel systems, facilities and equipment based on user and service requirements driven from an understanding of business needs.

Specific Accountabilities
Leadership (60%)
Lead a team of technical professionals who are responsible for delivering our companys services.
Provide quality management for the day-to-day needs of the team and company.
Increase the overall competency of the team.
Utilize performance management to clearly set individual deliverables, expectations and to review success throughout the year.
Ensure that the teams budget is optimally managed.
Provide input into the vision and direction of the team.
Implementation (15%)
Execute implementation plans based on technology business plans.
Design technology solutions based on technology menu items.
Implement technology solutions and project management, including procuring equipment, developing specifications for installation and configuration, securing internal and/or external resources for execution.
Document as-is network builds.
Determine detailed estimates of project costs, resource requirements and timelines.
Issue request for change including methods of procedures and roll back plans for network changes.
Capacity and Availability Management (15%)
Manage capacity and availability of assets to ensure planners have the information to develop technology business plans.
Sign off on design and peer reviews.
Assist in resolution of escalated network incidents.
Problem Resolution.
Capacity tracking of assets including predicting replacement and enhancement of assets based on age, ROI, and capacity.
Asset optimization and repurposing.
Release management including patching and configuration.
Coordinate changes to asset design.
Business Planning (10%)
Develop business plans.
Develop implementation plans; high level estimates of the project plan, including resourcing, cost, timelines and business value.
Participate in the planning phase of projects.
Other
Participate fully in our organizational health and safety programs, adhering to all safe work practices and procedures and staying focused on continuous improvement. In addition, ensuring all Accident Prevention Program (APPs) training, all Code of Business Conduct (CoBC) training, and all other Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training courses are completed on time.
Perform timely completion of all administrative tasks including, but not limited to time reporting, expense reporting and submission of corporate card statements, as applicable.
Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor of Engineering degree in a related discipline. Professional Engineer designation would be considered an asset.
Minimum of five (5) years xe2x80x98experience in a telecommunications environment or related field with project management experience. PMP would be considered an asset.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience leading and managing teams and projects to achieve goals.
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, coach and motivate a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, presentation, and oral.
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Skilled in resolving conflicts and fostering a positive work environment
Ability to develop long-term plans and strategies to drive innovation and growth
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) skills
Knowledge of the elements of a health & safety program will be considered an asset.
