Purpose

Leads and oversees Dealer Finance Center Retail Lending team in a given region ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies procedures and service level standards.

They demonstrate strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities to guide their teams to apply sound risk management judgement, and follow policies and processes to ensure that the bank is protected from undue risk. They act as the escalation point for high profile and complex applications, and frequently communicate with internal partners and external customers on strategic matters or escalations from their team.

Accountabilities

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Lead the Retail Lending Team\xe2\x80\x99s adjudication and administration of the indirect loans for the entire Dealer Finance Center (DFC.) The Senior Manager coaches and directs team to effectively analyze application information and associated documents while ensuring consistent application of policies and processes.
  • Oversees DFC lending activities and practices to high standards of credit quality to ensure Indirect Retail and Dealer Value Lease Plan (DVLP) delinquencies and amounts Written out of Record WOR are within acceptable levels for the DFC unit as measured by the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s internal delinquency and WOR standards reported in the Monthly Monitoring Report.
  • Act as DFC lead on National projects, or lending policy and process reviews/ implementations.
  • Understand how the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, often in partnership with Global Risk Management, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience compliant with service level expectations.
Education / Experience / Other Information
  • University or College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Expert knowledge of the Automotive Financing industry lines the DFC is serving,
  • Expert knowledge of all retail lending indirect and retail leasing products as well as solid knowledge of other retail products which may meet customer needs,
  • Proven ability to make sound credit decisions,
  • Effective communication to skilfully manage a large number of automotive dealership clients and internal partners,
  • Strength in ability to negotiate/mediate between multiple groups including high volume referral sources with potential for conflicting priorities/sense of urgency,
  • Proficient in using the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s ALSCOM Retail Indirect Loan and Lease adjudication system.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
