Why this role is important?

Scope

The Senior Manager, Reimbursement will be a subject matter expert in insurance and drug coverage related intelligence, as well as be a key point of contact for case escalations. The Senior Manager will also be required to develop strategies to support customers relating to reimbursement issues.

The nature of this role requires using excellent communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills. The incumbent is expected to act in a diplomatic and professional manner while working with short lead times and changing customer demands.

As this position deals with highly sensitive information, the incumbent is expected to maintain patient confidentiality per Specialty Health Network policy and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage patient turnaround times to ensure that patients are starting drug therapies as quickly as possible;
  • Manage complex reimbursement cases, and provide guidance for appeals and other such escalations of Patient Care Specialists and Appeals Specialists to insure patients receive medication as quickly as possible;
  • Manage the reimbursement process for all areas and levels of reimbursement, ensuring that high service and quality standards are met in addition to managing costs and productivity measures for the department;
  • Liaise with manufacturers partners where applicable;
  • Providing information on relevant reimbursement topics related to our client\xe2\x80\x99s products;
  • Interacting and managing key stakeholders within physician\xe2\x80\x99s office, hospital outpatient location, clinics and nurses;
  • Facilitating ongoing training and education;
  • Validating prior authorization requirements;
  • Reviewing appropriate billing and coding for drugs;
  • Assisting with resolving reimbursement issues;
  • Act as a mentor/coach/resource to the Patient Care Specialists;
  • Work with Quality Assurance team to monitor, coach and provide training to staff.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum 5 years previous Reimbursement/Drug Coverage/Insurance experience or equivalent demonstrated experience (e.g., Specialty Pharmaceuticals)
  • 3+ years experience leading teams
  • University degree or College diploma in a related field preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial assistance programs;
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently
  • A team player with demonstrated ability to provide superior customer care
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment using MS Office
  • Bilingualism (French & English) an asset
