The Senior Manager, Procurement Insights & Analytics provides procurement and analytical expertise, including cost modelling, programming, report automation and analytical support, to enable sourcing strategy, category management and other data driven decision-making. This role is a key member of the Procurement Strategy and Capabilities team, providing deep analysis and strong technical expertise to enable the leadership team to achieve business targets and strategic objectives.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead the end to end analytics lifecycle of 3rd party data - data collection, data cleansing, data normalization, data maintenance, reporting and dashboarding. The successful candidate must be meticulous and diligent with accuracy and superb quality
  • Provide thought leadership in design of data flow, reporting efficiency and advanced analytical tools; this role will be working with technology and other functions on data related projects as well as coordinate/conduct trainings on new processes and tools internally as a DATA CoE
  • Establish, populate and maintain databases (SQL) to analyze and interpret a wide range of spend, supplier, contract and organizational data, which supports procurement planning, performance tracking and data driven decision making
  • Be familiar with data exchange applications such as API, EDW, Data Highway
  • Design user interface on PowerApps platform, supervise and lead ongoing enhancements per sourcing and business users\' feedback; Collaborate with Technology in promoting enhancements in PROD environment and explores new features and support with license providers
  • Design PowerBi dashboards, lead dashboard automation and integrations from various types of data such as spend, contracts, invoices, POs, Suppliers etc., build multiple custom views for different audience.
  • Be familiar with other data tools such as Alteryx
  • Leverage Python, VBA, R etc. to automate manual and repeatable processes, contributing to the efficiency of the process, this includes, but not limited to, supplier normalization and supplier name match
  • Lead the Data and Platform annual planning process to deliver departmental priorities, including platform enhancement, process optimization, data completeness and accuracy and the development of predictive analytics
  • Envision, develop, and deploy reporting on departmental performance metrics
  • Communicate results of analysis through documentations (Powerpoint, Excel) to internal/external audiences, and provide data support to stakeholders including Internal Audit and Regulators (as required)
  • Work with procurement and business partners to assess their business needs and contribute meaningfully to the development of procurement and category management strategies
  • Coach and train junior staff and lead knowledge sharing across teams and departments
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Apply risk management and compliance checks when researching and analyzing supply markets and contract performance to identify potential risks and trigger risk mitigation and management responses
  • Understand how the Bank\'s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We\'d love to work with you if you have experience with:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in math, science, finance, or related field;
  • 3 + years\' previous experience in data analytics, programming, or procurement related field
  • Data analytics methodology and techniques
  • Advanced technical skills in various data analytics tools, such as SQL Server, VBA, Power Query
  • Advanced technical skills in visualization tools, such as Power BI and Alteryx
  • Detailed oriented, extremely high standards for data accuracy
  • Understanding the wider objectives of procurement practices, such as business and strategic goal
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with leadership teams
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to constantly changing business environment, work independently, drive projects to completion, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships is considered an asset
