JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Senior Manager plays a key role in developing AGLC’s people (employees at all levels in the organization) with a focus on culture, learning and engagement. The successful candidate will create and implement initiatives that support the growth and success of our people, and will lead and innovate existing people programs such as succession and career planning, recognition, employee and leadership development. As a member of the divisional leadership team, the position contributes to strategic planning and decision making for the division and represents the division on various committees.
In addition to leading a broad range of initiatives that contribute to AGLC’s strategic direction and culture, the position collaborates with the Vice President, Human Resources on strategies that promote continuous improvement and enhanced organizational performance. This includes leading the development of AGLC’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategy and ensuring that AGLC processes have DEI principles built into them. This growth mindset will be evident in continuous improvement practices, in order to ensure new and current programs, policies and practices are designed and regularly reviewed for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Completion of an undergraduate degree in human resources, business or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years experience at a senior leadership level with a proven track record of success in organizational effectiveness strategies (culture and engagement, change management, organizational learning, diversity, equity and inclusion), is required.
The successful candidate requires the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Skilled at translating business needs into people strategies.
  • Demonstrated abilities in working collaboratively and can engage at all levels in the organization.
  • An exceptional communicator skilled at facilitating presentations and writing reports.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and client delivery with an open-minded approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.

The following are considered assets:
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
  • Certified coach and experience overseeing coaching programs.
