The Opportunity::
This position is Business Development\xe2\x80\x99s in-house expert in all aspects of power markets, responsible for technical analysis of the markets to inform Business Development decisions. In addition, this person is responsible for all research to support the strategic plan driving Business Development in North America. The position will directly manage a team of associates to analyze market risks and opportunities, especially as they relate to under-development generation, storage and hydrogen assets, in-execution assets under financing, and potential new development assets. In addition, the position will coordinate across Enel Green Power departments and, ultimately, Enel North America business lines to define a common view of power market fundamentals, drive business insights, and inform managerial decisions surrounding the Enel Green Power business development pipeline. What You\'ll Do at Enel::
Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:


  • Developing, maintaining, and continually improving the market analysis framework for Enel Green Power North America\xe2\x80\x99s business development team to support pipeline/development asset decision making. This includes a long-term view of both risk and opportunity;
  • Assist with creating the strategic growth plan for Enel Green Power North America\xe2\x80\x99s business development activities to meet corporate investment goals, and with presenting the plan to colleagues across Enel North America;
  • Negotiating with and managing external consultants \xe2\x80\x93 as related to power markets \xe2\x80\x93 to ensure their necessary work for financing, market participation, and/or qualification results in optimal and expected results;
  • Managing all aspects of power market analysis during asset financing activities and offtake pricing/negotiation, with particular emphasis on defending value during financing;
  • Directing, training and providing oversight of associates within the Growth Strategy & Power Market Analysis unit within EGPNA business development. Key responsibilities include:
    • Developing and maintaining economic and financial models and other tools for analyzing new and existing markets for renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies/business opportunities
    • Creating guidance for Business Development to support ongoing development activities, pipeline allocation decisions, and acquisition targets
    • Building actionable business insights from research and analysis of value drivers and risk streams in electricity markets to support final investment decisions
    • With support from Storage and Hydrogen teams, building and running optimization models for hybrid assets, identifying and quantifying key profitability and risk reduction activities to drive investment decisions
    • Researching trends and issues in various North American electric power markets \xe2\x80\x93 especially as they relate to Enel\xe2\x80\x99s business lines \xe2\x80\x93 including:
      • Effects of new and emerging technology, regulations, and market structures
      • Mergers and acquisitions
      • Electricity supply and demand
  • Forming strategy for policy advocacy, especially as it relates to the creation and defense of markets favorable to Enel Green Power business activities.
Who You Are::
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or similar discipline; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred;
  • Seven+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in energy market modelling, fundamental analysis, utility consulting or similar fields;
  • One or more years\xe2\x80\x99 managerial experience;
  • In-depth knowledge of organized electricity markets;
  • Demonstrated experience with structured transactions and asset financing, particularly relating to assets exposed to organized power markets;
  • Self-motivated problem solver and creative thinker, able to earn the trust of key project stakeholders;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Strong client-facing and internal communication skills;
  • Highly developed business acumen;
  • Up to 25% of domestic travel and 10% of international travel.
