Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of senior Data and Analytics Architects as well as Data Engineers. The senior manager, with this team, envisions, designs, set standards and oversees the evolution of CMHC\'s data and analytics platform, data extraction, transformation and loading, new data sources and reporting.
  • Provide expert advice on the introduction and impact of replacement technologies and on the impact of IT policies, standards and guidelines and how evolving technologies may apply to the CMHC environment and business activities.
  • Facilitate meetings, presentations and brainstorming sessions to support innovative thinking on the development of strategies, plans and systems to meet the overall enterprise architecture goals and objectives.
  • Act as a management consultant to advise CMHC\'s business leaders how to achieve their strategy using Data and Analytics. Understanding needs and prioritize requirements, articulate solutions, leverage the expertise of others in a collaborative manner that aligns with other stakeholders and complies with CMHC\'s policies.
  • Develop reports, dashboards and other communication tools to track IT\'s progress and overall performance as it relates to Data Architecture.
  • Develop the Data and Analytics Architecture framework, program mandate, value proposition to CMHC, governance and team composition, Data and Analytics roadmap, and deliverables. Develop, coach and lead specialized technical staff and ensure a consistent and coordinated Data and Analytics Architecture approach and program.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements, adherence to standards and best practices when implementing or developing components of CMHC\'s Data and Analytics platform and projects.
  • Ensure consistency between, and integration with, the other components of CMHC\'s Enterprise Architecture Blueprint (enterprise, business, security and information).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field such as computer science, , commerce, finance, or economics.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in Information Technology or Data Analytics Reporting with five (5) years of experience in leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and performance measures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills including presentation, negotiating and influencing skills in both official languages (French and English).
  • Ability to develop, establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with a data science programming languages (Python, R, SAS etc.)and with data science tools (Databricks, R studio, Jupyter, PowerBI, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master\'s degree in computer science, information systems, Data science or a related field; MBA with a major in IT; IT EA-related certifications such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF); certifications and education related to data and analytics, applications, technology and security. Cloud computing certifications, such as Microsoft Azure.
