Senior Manager, Emerging Products

Toronto, ON, Canada

Job Description

Position: Senior Manager, Emerging Products
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Toronto, ON (Remote)
The Company:
Postmedia is a Canadian news media company representing more than 130 brands across multiple print, online and mobile platforms. Award-winning journalists and innovative product development teams bring engaging content to millions of people every week whenever and wherever they want it.
This exceptional content, reach and scope offers advertisers and marketers compelling solutions to effectively reach target audiences. We are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our team.
The Opportunity:
Postmedia Next is seeking a results-driven Emerging Products manager to lead the commercialization of new offerings that generate incremental revenue beyond traditional digital advertising and subscriptions. This role is ideal for a strategic and entrepreneurial leader who thrives on identifying untapped market opportunities, closing deals, and scaling innovative solutions across new verticals and client segments.
You'll work cross-functionally to define, build, and launch high-impact products and services that create economic value and drive measurable sales growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable with direct outreach, client engagement, and revenue accountability. You'll collaborate closely with the VP of Content Monetization and teams across content, sales, product, and editorial.
What you'll do:

  • Revenue Generation & Sales Execution: Own the sales cycle for emerging products--from opportunity identification to deal closure. Drive incremental revenue through new commercial models, partnerships, and monetization strategies outside of traditional ad and subscription channels.
  • Strategic Opportunity Scoping: Identify and prioritize high-potential product opportunities using market signals, client feedback, and Postmedia's strategic objectives.
  • Business Development & Client Outreach: Lead direct outreach to prospective clients and industries. Craft compelling business cases and product narratives that convert interest into revenue.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy & Enablement: Develop sales materials, pricing strategies, and activation plans. Ensure national and local sales teams are equipped to sell and support new offerings.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with content, product, editorial, and technology teams to bring new offerings to market quickly and effectively.
  • Performance Metrics & Optimization: Define success metrics, track performance, and iterate based on results. Build scalable frameworks for ideation, execution, and revenue tracking.
  • Client Engagement & Storytelling: Translate complex product visions into persuasive pitches, presentations, and executive briefs that resonate with clients and stakeholders.
Who you are:
  • 7+ years of experience in sales, business development, or product commercialization roles
  • Proven track record of closing deals and driving revenue growth through non-traditional monetization strategies
  • Strong understanding of digital ecosystems, platforms, and emerging business models
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, especially in client-facing presentations and executive briefs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and align diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in performance measurement and sales enablement tools
  • Experience with content monetization, digital partnerships, or new revenue streams is a strong asset
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related field
