We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager, Debt Portfolio Management & Compliance to join our Real Estate Finance & Capital Markets team based out of Head Office in downtown Toronto. In this role, you will report to the Director and will be responsible for debt portfolio management and compliance, people leadership, and ad hoc projects. Debt Portfolio Management & Compliance

  • Performing global risk review of Oxford's debt portfolio, identifying loans at risk of covenant breaches or other instances of non-compliance, and presenting results and action plans to senior management
  • Developing a global loan compliance framework to standardize the receipt of information from third party asset managers, portfolio companies and Oxford's indirect investments to ensure global debt portfolio risks are reported and monitored
  • Overseeing the calculation of quarterly financial covenant tests and maintaining forward looking covenant forecasts for Oxford's global portfolio
  • Manage Oxfords debt onboarding process, ensuring that all key economic debt terms as well as compliance and lender reporting requirements are documented and updated into Oxford's debt reporting and loan compliance software's following the execution of new loan agreements
  • Oversight of Oxford's internal controls pertaining to debt onboarding and ongoing loan compliance, ensuring in-place controls are adequately designed and regularly reviewed to respond to identified risks
  • Maintenance of a complete inventory of guarantees provided by Oxford entities, by nature and type of guarantee, and providing advise to Oxford's financing leads as to which guarantors to use in new financings
  • Ownership of lender reporting as required by Oxford's loan agreements, ensuring accurate and on-time delivery of reporting to lenders for Oxford's directly managed assets
  • Working with the Asset Management and Legal teams to facilitate Oxford's requests to lenders for certain actions to be taken by Oxford which require lender consent
  • Oversight of Loan Administration including administering letters of credit and working through external audit requirements
People Leadership, Projects and Ad-Hoc
  • Initiation of and contribution to project development with a focus on driving and enhancing process efficiencies; risk and control management; and innovation
  • Establishment of excellent relationships with stakeholders, both internally across a variety of functional groups and externally with Oxford's lenders
  • Leadership of a team of two direct reports, providing ongoing mentorship and feedback
Skillsets / Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Managerial position
  • CPA or relevant accounting designation is a considered an asset
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting or Economics
  • Have strong interpersonal; communication; and organizational skills and the ability to work within various group settings and with contacts at varying levels
  • Understanding of financial covenants, accounting, and borrower and guarantor loan obligations
  • Possess excellent attention to detail the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands
  • Have sound logic and reasoning skills, with the ability to analyze an issue and evaluate and present various options for solution
  • Possess a strong understanding of processes and controls
  • Experienced leader with the ability to coach and motivate others to bring out the best in them
