JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager, Data Platform Engineering provides thought leadership on the Data Science & Engineering team, and oversees the practice of data ingestion, delivery, integration, dev ops and tooling functions. This include defining the vision, strategy, architecture, processes, standards, and best practices for these areas. This role also will require collaboration with other Data Science leaders and ICs, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions that support our business goals and objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data platform engineers, providing technical guidance, feedback and career development opportunities.
  • Establish and execute the data platform engineering roadmap, aligning with the Data Science & Engineering team\'s vision and priorities, and ensuring timely and successful delivery of data projects.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, and performant data pipeline tooling that enable data ingestion, delivery, integration, dev ops, and automation.
  • Enable data quality, consistency, accuracy and completeness across the data lifecycle, implementing data governance, validation, monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
  • Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies, methodologies and best practices for data platform engineering, staying abreast of industry trends and standards.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement within the data platform engineering team and across the data organization.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, or equivalent work experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, data integration, data management or related roles, with 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management position.
  • Expertise in data engineering tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Azure, DBT, Databricks, PowerBI, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, modeling, design, security and optimization principles and practices.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex and high-impact data solutions in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Passion for data and innovation, and a desire to learn and grow.
