Your opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Consumer Marketing to join our Marketing team in support of our Personal Debt Solution Service Line (the BDO Debt Solutions sub-brand) on a 12 month contract. While owning the following responsibilities, you will be able to work remotely within any of our offices across Canada:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the PDS Service Line Leader and the PDS Service Line Leadership Team regarding brand and marketing programs and activities for Consumer PDS
  • To develop and execute a consumer marketing strategy that provides for targeted sustained brand visibility and hits or exceeds lead acquisition targets.
  • Enhance brand position, and ensure brand presence and favourability such that BDO remains top of mind/choice for debt solution services
  • Hit weekly/monthly/quarterly lead targets in support of both maintaining and growing market share overall and in specific target markets
  • Stay abreast of market conditions and changes, and respond accordingly
  • Develop an holistic understanding of the business, beyond marketing to include all aspects of the consumer experience
  • Continually seek to improve and optimize existing strategies and funnel metrics, while seeking new growth channels/opportunities
  • Work very closely with PDS Leaders, and the PDS partners, to ensure alignment and full participation in support of brand/growth goals
  • Lead and direct the development and execution of national PDS marketing strategies, plans and initiatives that build brand and drive growth, and will include digital, events, sponsorships, content, advertising, PR, and internal marketing activities as part of an integrated marketing approach
  • Provide input, direction, analysis and strategic decision-making for the PDS service line to the CMO on national marketing strategies, plans and initiatives in coordination with members of the PDS Leadership Team
  • Analyze campaign results and provide feedback on program effectiveness and suggests improvements for future events or campaigns
  • Report on marketing and business development initiatives and strategies to the PDS Leadership Team, and provide marketing direction for the PDS service line
  • Work as part of a team of marketing leaders across the country to coordinate strategy and best practices, and manage programs and projects to completion
  • Ensure national marketing strategies are communicated to the PDS Service Line Leader, and implementation plans are coordinated across the country for the PDS service line
  • Drive internal awareness strategies and initiatives to build the knowledge of PDS services across the firm
  • Support relationships with external integrated marketing partners including facilitating media relations, event support, advertising, thought leadership and other communications
  • Consult with relevant subject matter experts and stakeholders on marketing messages, materials or tactics to achieve business objectives
  • Collaborate with the Content Marketing team to develop a content marketing strategy and approach that drives targeted, on brand messaging and thought leadership. Manage review process with marketing and client service professionals as well as appropriate compliance reviews
  • Support professionals in PDS on their service line strategic performance outcomes (SPOs) that relate to marketing
  • Support and execute on Marketing SPOs
  • Stay up to date on current and emerging issues related to PDS, including regularly scanning the marketplace on marketing activities of traditional and non-traditional competitors
  • Responsible for the PDS marketing budget in coordination with the PDS Service Line Leader
  • Travel to other offices or to support in market activities, as needed

Your experience and education
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration or another related field required
  • You have at least 15+ years consumer marketing at a senior level
  • You have had ownership of a brand/portfolio that demonstrates positive brand and growth results, particularly in the context of a brand that has experienced challenges/decline
  • You have experience with all aspects of digital consumer (omnichannel) marketing, and at minimum familiarity with D2C models
  • You have excellent team leadership and senior stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to build consensus towards a common vision/plan in a remote working environment
  • You have strong quantitative/data background in the pursuit of embedding and executing an agile approach to marketing with the ability to be responsive to changes in the business environment
  • You have experience in all aspects of agency relationship management, including vendor due diligence, goal setting, management/alignment, and accountability
  • You have advanced knowledge in the development, management and execution of content and integrated marketing processes including marketing strategy and development
  • You have experience with traditional (radio, OOH, TV) growth and brand development strategies for a direct to consumer business
  • You have experience ensuring streamlined and ongoing reporting from all business-critical areas - from digital programs, to web site up time
  • You have strong business acumen with an ability to understand and communicate BDO's business, marketplace and value proposition
  • You have the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, marshal resources and manage change in a matrix environment
  • You have a consultative approach to working with marketing and client service professionals at all levels, including leadership
  • You have strong interpersonal and client service skills
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication, as well as the ability to present and facilitate
  • You have exceptional project management skills and organizational skills, including ability to effectively manage to and monitor marketing budgets
  • You are a driven self-starter with a proactive approach to serving professionals at all levels
  • You have knowledge of production processes for print, Internet and web-based materials
