Summary
The Senior Shopper Marketing Manager, Conventional Banner, is accountable for developing a high-performing marketing team responsible for basket building strategies through the development of promotional flyer and all aspects of the in-store experience across the Metro Ontario store network. The Senior Shopper Marketing Manager oversees the continuity of our engagement with the shoppers across all key phases of the shopping experience (pre-shop, shop, and post-shop), with a primary business objective of driving basket sales. The Senior Shopper Marketing Manager will work closely with both internal and external business partners to ensure full integration of approved messaging across multiple customer touch points, in both off-line and on-line channels, including eCommerce, and supporting the alignment of key priorities and executional milestones within the marketing team while supporting the Director in achieving cross functional priorities.
Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead expanded Team through the development and execution of integrated shopper experiences with clear links to relevant shopper and industry insights.
  • Lead private label marketing development and always on program to drive awareness, by working with cross banners marketing teams in establishing unity and synergys
  • Lead the Shopper Marketing and Flyer teams through the development and execution of shopper and category marketing plans with clear links to relevant shopper insights. Manage of 2 direct report and TC on-site resources for proper deployment of resources to meet the weekly critical upload schedule.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising to co-develop the annual flyer advertising plan and oversee weekly execution (including design, production, printing, and distribution).
  • Represent Metro Ontario Inc with our Vendor Community and Internal Stakeholders to support the strategic development of our Leadership Categories with sustained and integrated marketing plans.
  • Oversee the strategic development of our in-store experience from ideation to execution with evolutionary signage plan across key departments with clear links to relevant consumer and industry insights.
  • Work collaboratively with Brand Marketing Team to ensure balance strategics and execution plan to achieve targeted transaction and basket growth plans
  • Lead the annual budget planning process and ensure period consolidations remain on target throughout the fiscal year for all assigned budget lines; ensure financial auditing processes are adhered to by team.
  • Oversee the development of in-store communication touch points, including category and promotional signage, POS, in-store media, menu boards, etc.; collaborate with Operations & Design/Construction on Décor development.
  • Work closely with the Merchandising Team to build category marketing plans to support new food launches and innovation; includes private label support.
  • Regularly liaise with senior level stakeholders to ensure timely feedback is gathered from all stakeholders and approvals are issued as per outlined Action Plans.
  • Manage long term relationships with revenue partners, agency partners, designers, copy writers, translators and printers to maintain efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
  • Continually bring forth and champion new and unique opportunities for improvement in processes and direction.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Marketing; MBA an asset
  • 7 - 10 years marketing experience at a Sr. Manager; agency experience an asset
  • Minimum 3 years experience managing teams (2+) in a direct supervisory role
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build clearly articulated and influential sales presentations
  • Ability to interact with and influence key stakeholders across all levels of management
  • Excellent negotiation skills & strong project management skills
