About the team you are joining

Lead by the Head ATM Strategy, the ATM team is responsible for the development and roll-out of global standards and policies related to Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) technologies. The team covers a wide range of topics from ATM concepts to new ground systems to the integration of unmanned vehicles into airspace. As a member of this team, you will be at the heart of driving transformation in air traffic management with innovative new technologies. You will work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders and drive industry initiatives across international bodies. Located in the city of Montreal, the aviation hub of the world, you will have a direct interface with the International Civil Aviation Organization and other international organizations.

What your day would be like

  • Support the ATM team in developing and promoting IATA positions related to aircraft avionics, communications, navigation and surveillance technologies, and aviation radio spectrum.
  • Develop and present airline position on aviation spectrum and present it at the world Radio Conference;
  • Identify and support the ATM team in driving new technology initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency;
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ICAO and other industry groups on all topics related to communications, navigation, surveillance, and aviation spectrum;
  • Represent IATA at key meetings and conferences under the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), ICAO, and industry meetings;
  • Contribute to the achievement of the department's commercial targets.
We would love to hear from you if
  • Have a bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably with a specialty in engineering (avionics), with some level of knowledge about automation;
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the aviation industry;
  • Have a good understanding of ICAO provisions and other regional/national civil aviation policies;
  • Have a good understanding of CNS technologies and systems;
  • Possess knowledge about aircraft avionics and/or aircraft performance capabilities;
  • Are self-confident, highly motivated, energetic, and a team player;
  • Have excellent PC skills, particularly with MS Office programs;
  • Have excellent oral and written communications skills in English.
