The Senior Manager, Screening, AML/ATF Models and Analytics is responsible for developing AML models for payment screening and/or name screening and providing input to the framework for model development. This position carries responsibility for the timely and accurate development of AML models. The testing, reviewing and validation activities on developed models following the AML and Enterprise Modeling Governance standards; stating key assumptions, including qualitative and expert judgment, logic, and conceptual soundness; conducting various tests. The Senior Manager will lead a team of quantitative risk management professionals.
What you'll be doing in this role:

• 
  Develop and enhance statistical models in support of Scotiabank’s AML/ATF paument screening and/or name screening activitives. Includes working on data acquisition, modeling, implementation and tuning strategies. Anticipated deliverables include models for payment screening and or name screening and alert prioritization. Will involve analyzing various alert metrics (eg, productive vs non-productive alerts) and optimizing solution configurations and parameters.
• Accomplish AML Program objectives through the effective oversight and support of critical AML applications.
• Provide recommendations to improve monitoring systems and capabilities based on identified risk and control gaps.
• Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas
• Ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk

We'd love to work with you if you have:

• 
  Expertise of statistical modeling and data science methods
• Experience programming in statistical languages such as SAS, python. Experience with databases such as SQL
• Understanding of Screening processes
• AML/ATF experience or analytics knowledge is a must
• Experience as a people manager for 3 or more years
• Post Gradate Degree (or higher) in science, technology, engineering or mathematics preferred.
